Description

A heavenly riverside walk from Watersmeet along the East Lyn River towards Rockford. At less than 2-miles, this is a great bolt-on if you're walking from Lynmouth or Hillsford Bridge to, or you are already at, Watersmeet. Follow the path, on the opposite bank to Watersmeet House, past the Limekilns alongside Barton Wood towards Rockford. The footpath forks offering a bridleway to Rockford, the bridleway is a great alternative to Rockford, a medium ascent through pretty woodland, but stick to the footpath. When you reach Ash Bridge, cross over and turn left following the river all the way back to Watersmeet. You could continue to Rockford for refreshments at the Rockford Inn, it's a beautiful extension to this walk. Although this walk is marked easy, it's rocky underfoot with a few easy slopes.

The footpath between Watersmeet & Rockford, great for a short circular river walk.
